Here are a few resources that could be useful for educators in case they need information on how yo manage a classroom, or what is something that they can do one the first day of school.

This article by Tiffany Bennett provides detailed advice on how to keep a classroom focused. It is important for an educator to be a bit strict and let their students know that there will be consequences to their actions. It also helps educators learn how to be fair with their punishments and not lose their temper. The only thing I would like to see more in this article however of other ways to allow fair punishments along with how to reward students for cooperating with a teacher’s rules.

A beginning of the year activity that helps students get to know each other in pairs. They take turns rolling a six sided dice and whatever sum they roll corresponds to a question they must answer. Playing this game can make it comforting for students as they do not get put under the spotlight in front of everyone. This activity is appropriate for students in grades 2-6. However, if I were to modify the activity, I would make the students take turns rolling a pair of six sided dice and add more questions.
●GLSEN Safe Space Kit

The GLSEN Safe Space Kit found by the link above is a site that provides a free pdf download on how an educator can become a LGBT+ ally. The kit explains what it means for a place to be a safe space, how to educate yourself about the LGBT+ community and more. The site also provides free downloadable posters and stickers that say “Safe Space” in English and Spanish which teachers and other school faculty can add onto their walls to show that the place is LGBT+ friendly. This resource can be helpful to educators who know very little about this community, who want to be inclusive, and bring equality among their students regardless of sexuality. The only limits this has is the kit, poster and stickers are only available in English and Spanish. It would be nice in the future to have these available in other languages.
